Dog Bones If dogs could tell us what their favorite chew treat is, we think many of them would say "bones." Before rawhides, squeak toys, and rubber cones were invented, man's best friend was chewing on dog bones. At BullySticks.com we carry dog bones in many shapes and sizes to suit just about any dog. We do, however, offer a word of caution before filling any orders for dog bones. While it's true that almost every dog loves a good bone, not all dogs should be allowed to have them. Aggressive chewers, for instance, should never be given dog bones, because they can crack the bones and cause splintering. Bone splinters can cause very serious problems if they get stuck in your dog's gums. And a bone splinter in the digestive tract can actually be life-threatening. So no matter how much he may love them, if your dog is an aggressive chewer, you should stick to giving him Bully Sticks, rawhides, or rubber cones. If you feel that your dog can safely enjoy bones, we suggest you use the following criteria for choosing the right bones for your buddy. For small to medium dogs, we suggest smaller sized bones. We offer some small filled bones that are perfect for our diminutive friends. For larger dogs, we carry some nice ham shank bones and knuckle bones. Don't give dogs shank bones on concrete floors, however--they have been known to crack and splinter under such circumstances. And if upon inspection you feel the bones you ordered are not safe for your dog, simply return the bones and we will either give you a refund or give you credit towards other bones or chew toys.
